Julien, Lonely Rock, is a wonderful piece contrasting massive positive and infinite negative spaces so boldly. The textures of the rock and ground are tantalizing. Your pallet is cool but demonstrates great depth. I am intrigued by the perspective of this shot. I cannot get a sense of the size of this rock nor the flora surrounding it. Are these other objects trees, shrubs and boulders, shrubs, grasses and stones or grasses, lichen and pebbles? The overall impact of this visually striking piece takes us to the edge of two usually distinct genres of photography-- realist and abstract, Bold work!!! V

Grand and beautiful division of elements and textures in this image, Julien! I like the tiny tree sentinels along the top of the hill where it meets the sky and the blue in the rocks of this massive wall appears to be a fantasy reflection of the beautiful clear blue of the sky. Voted!

I love this rock! Beautiful picture... The color and texture of the rock are beautiful... and I am with Peri, that it feels Ancient, etc.... VF

I was admiring the composition of big shapes, some with texture, some without, the colors and the abstract quality here. v

Julien, Fantastic image of a photo from the bottom of the mountain to the top. Showing everything in between as you scan the bottom and watch the side wall of the mountain on your left to the top where you reach that awesome sky with those beautiful clouds just floating by. Great scenic job. Great photo. VOTED
